In Chinese ancient legend, Fu Sang is the divine tree in the far east where the sun rises, symbolising the birth of life and the dawn of light. Intertwining female labour with myth, this artwork elevates everyday work into something sacred. The upper section juxtaposes moments of women gathering mulberry leaves with handmade gold leaf paper, while the lower section features a small Fu Sang foil drawing that echoes the spirit of the mulberry leaves.
